A beautiful turquoise lake perfect for fishing with a cafe, day use areas and lovely hiking trails. They also have canoes, paddleboats, and stand-up paddleboards for rent! Paulina Lake is a 36 minute drive from the Carefree Cabin.

Visit the site of one of the most unusual volcanic areas in the world. Kayak Paulina Lake or hike to the geothermal pools along one section of the lake coastline. Visit the Big Obsidian Flow, but be aware there is a BIG FEDERAL FINE if you try to remove any obsidian. Plan ahead if you want to secure a camping site. Biking, fishing, boating, all are possible.
