SLC is the airport you fly into to ski at Snowbird, Alta and all the Utah resorts with the "Greatest Snow on Earth". Only 27 miles from SLC to Snowbird make Snowbird the most accessible, reliable powder skiing in the world. While Salt Lake Airport very rarely closes, the last 6 miles from the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon to Snowbird is sometimes the hardest part of the journey. The road is at times restricted to 4WD or AWD only, so that is a good reason to use shuttle services and/or public transportation to get to Snowbird since a car is really not needed in Snowbird.

Salt Lake City is an urban gem of the mountain west. Set in an incomparable backdrop of the Wasatch Mountains and home to 'The Greatest Snow On Earth', Salt Lake City stands out as a thriving hub of business, culture, innovation and an inherently industrious spirit. There are homeless people since there are several homeless shelters but the streets are very monitored by security and the police to ensure safety.
