The Löw-Beer Villa in Brno is the youngest branch of the Museum of the Brno Region. From 1913 to 1939 it was owned by Alfred Löw-Beer, Jewish industrialist and trader in textiles, who gave his daughter Greta part of the plot of land at the end of the 1920s, where she and her husband Fritz Tugendhat had a house built between 1929 and 1930 – today the world-famous Villa Tugendhat.

Art-nouveau villa with nice garden. Alfred Löw-Beer who have build it, was Jewish industrialist and trader in textiles. Most of the family members fled to Great Britain to escape the Nazi terror in 1939, but Alfred Löw-Beer stayed in occupied Czechoslovakia to try and save as much as possible of the family fortune. At Easter time in 1939 he died on the run in unclear circumstances and his dead body was found on a railway track near Stříbro (west of Czech Republic). He gave his daughter Greta part of the land, where she and her husband Fritz Tugendhat had a house built between 1929 and 1930 – today the world-famous Villa Tugendhat (functionalism).
