About half an hour from Lerici. Malaspina castle has a tremendous history and was home to British historian Anthony Beevor's mother. As a young girl she lived in this vast castle and in later life wrote a beautiful memoir of her tales and experiences at the turn of the twentieth century.

My municipal town and where Dante was exiled!! great sunsets from here and a few restaurants to choose from!! 15 min drive up the mountain!! drive carefully as the road is bendy! you will probably become familiar with the town if you prioritise this road to reach the valley and the beach which I usually do!

Every town in the area has a castle. The Fosdinovo medieval town with the view over the hills and Golfo dei poeti is not an exception. The castle is maintained in very good conditions. During the guided tour you'll learn about the history of the castle and its famous visitors (according to some versions Dante stayed there for some day) along with some legends about the ghosts.
