Due to its extensive history, Trento has a plethora of beautiful historical structures such as the Duomo and Castello del Buonconsiglio. Furthermore, the city has a host of fine museums and galleries, and some great shopping opportunities. 45 mins by car from the chalet.

Trento is well worth the visit, elegant, simple to negotiate and quite frankly, spectacularly beautiful. If possible drive from Riva, head north through Arco taking the secondary SS45bis, for a drive through superb lake and mountain scenery. Castles which float on lakes, vineyards, the whole journey is a scenic trip in itself. Once in Trento, visit the grand Duomo, take a coffee in the main Piazza, and just spend time wandering the rewarding streets. Restaurants buzz at lunch, the choices are many. There are so many visit options, including Castello Buonconsiglio, that one day is probably not enough, however, we love to just lose ourselves roaming the day away..
