Possession Point State Park is a relatively new park in the system but open to visitors who have a Discover Pass. Small parking lot. Its entrance is just before the county-owned Possession Beach Waterfront Park. It has views of the Cascades and the Olympics, as well as the mainland.

Possession Point State Park, 8343 S. Franklin Rd, at southern tip of island. There's a path to the beach and a loop trail through the forest.

Nearby access to the new state park property on the southernmost part of the island. The beach is really interesting at low tides. Lots of Anemones, Snails, Shore Crabs, Clams, sea stars, kelp beds, etc. Forested bluff overlooks the area, lots of bald eagles and seals.

Gorgeous secluded picnic spot with just one table and nobody to compete with. The mountains were out - Mt Baker was picture perfect. Then a long walk on the beach exploring the crab and clam shells.

Beautiful views. Only recommend for reasonably fit adults. Good for walking calm and mature dogs.
