This is really nice place for hiking. Specially if you go around sun set time, you can see entire silicon valley. Depending on the clouds you may end up catching spectacular sunsets. There is a reasonably big parking lot near the trail head, you will generally find parking there. There are several trails, there is a trail which ends up in view point, where you can see entire bay area, on a clear day you can even see San Francisco and Oakland skyline.

Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve is a 1600+ acre nature preserve in Eastern Santa Clara County. This preserve has a number of hiking and biking trails that offer sweeping views of the Alum Rock Canyon and the valley. This park is unique in the sense that a lot of it is rolling grassland, meaning you’re able to really take in some expansive views and get a sense of how beautifully laid-out the San Jose area is. If you’re a wildlife enthusiast, there are a number of protected species to be found here, including the American badger, Western burrowing owl, bobcats, and gray foxes.

This is a easily accessible hiking trail that takes you up into the foothills and gives you a wonderful view of San Jose Valley, generally pretty quiet and not crowded so it's great for peace and quiet & good views
