This mill was probably built in the 16th century and is one of the famous "Apano Mills" and they called ''Apano'' because in greek it means over something.So those windmills are over the famous windmills by the sea.Those windmills where used to produce flour for the local population in contrast with the windmills by the sea which they were used to produce flour for trade purposes. This once belonged to the Boni family, whose roots were from Crete and Italy.
