In the middle ages, this quarter was inhabited by the royal servants and the king himself. This is one of the most guarded and most popular areas to visit. The key government institutions and embassies are to be found here. However, here, you will find fewer opportunities to find a good meal compared to the opposite side of the Vltava river. If you still want to find a nice cafe/restaurant, try to find somethnig closer to Kampa island.
