The cultural park around Sagedammen in Ulvedal is a popular place for both private and larger events. To book the cultural park Sagedammen for an event, contact Nordfjord Fritidssenter. Around Sagedammen are 2 old sawmills and a water wheel. A firehouse has been erected with a baking room which is frequently used at events. The bread from this area is very popular. In the spring of 2007, a forge was completed. The homestead Rabben In older times, the homestead system was often the only way for people to survive. Rabben is such a homestead that dates back to the early 19th century. The tar pit In order to obtain tar for the impregnation of wooden materials, harnesses etc., tar pits were built. The tar pit at Ulvedal has been newly restored. Baggehola Helje Bagge was an outlaw who in the Middle Ages hid in Baggehola to survive. The story says that during a hearing at Heggdal in Innvik, early in the 16th century, a foot was wedged whole between the wall of the hearing room and a large stone slab that was used as a hearing table. The killer's name was Helje Bagge. He escaped and hid in a hole in Ulvedalsfjellet, and lived there for three years. His wife rowed across the fjord in secret to ensure that he got food that was placed at the agreed place. Helje was to be freed from his infidelity if he would go to Selje and kill a criminal who was hiding in Selje monastery. Helje went along with her son and killed this man and then became a free man. Until the middle of this century, no one had found the mountain cave that was told about in this centuries-old legend. After she was found, stairs and ladders were built that make it possible for everyone to see the cave and the surrounding wild mountains.
