This hike is amazing along the lower river and rapids.

Cool views of the Gorge. If you hike down you will occasionally see the Niagara Jet boats flying through the rapids!

Beautiful hike, gets you close to the rapids. Bottom of the trail has a nice flat to sit/picnic/yoga if you’re into that! Would check it out on AllTrails to get more stats.

There are a few trailheads that lead down to the river. Right now the 2 northern trails/staircases are closed for renovation. If you head to the trail near the whirlpool bridge, you can make it down - nice hike but be careful off the trail - LOTS of poison ivy.

We try to hike this at least once a year because its so pretty. You will see the Niagara Gorge & Whirlpool Rapids close up and you will probably even see people our on the Whirlpool Jet Boat tour. There are A LOT of stairs, but we see people of all ages hiking this "easy" trail.
