Home to the world-famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Tabernacle Organ. Organ Recitals occur Daily at noon and last 30 minutes. Reservations not needed. The Tabernacle is famous for its beautiful acoustics. Here's what you need to do: There are young “missionary” guides in the square and in the Tabernacle who were very pleasant and not at all preachy. Go into the Tabernacle and find a one of these guides. Ask them if they would do a “acoustic demonstration”, then walk to the very, very back. If possible they will go onto the pulpit and announce the demonstration. First they will shut off all electrical amplification, then play the amazing organ (or play a recording), then they will rip a piece of paper, drop a handful of paper clips and finally a single pin. It sounds like they are standing next to you.

The world renowned Tabernacle Choir (non-denominational) performance and television Broadcast is free and open to the public on Sundays at 9:30 AM. Be in your seats at 8:30. During December and some summer months, concerts will be held in the Conference Center nearby. Thursday evening rehearsals are also free and open to the public from at 8 PM.

Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearsals are open to the public every Thursday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Tabernacle on Temple Square. From June through August, and during the month of December, Thursday rehearsals and the weekly broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word will be held in the Conference Center. There are occasional exceptions to this Thursday night schedule. For example: major holidays, recording sessions, or when the Choir is out of town. These exceptions are posted on the Mormon Tabernacle Choir website as soon as they are known.
