This was one of the bars that brought the art of fine drinks and proper cocktails back to America. Chandeliers, charcoal walls, and low, dark, beamed ceilings give it the vibe of a gorgeous pirate ship. Hold on to your menu–it’s full of incredible artwork and wonderful quotes. One of their ever-changing spins on the classics. This is the place to savor a margarita served in a crystal glass.

Death & Co. is a dark, warm, comfortable place to enjoy a sophisticated cocktail. The menu at this influential bar includes punches, juleps, drinks made with Spanish spirits, and plenty of whiskey-based cocktails. Reservations for indoor and outdoor drinking are accepted, as are pre-orders for takeout.

OK- this place is great BUT they can be very snobby- they might put you on a waiting list and call you in an hour ( just to make you feel small- lol) but worth it- go there- if you do not get in right away, go somewhere nearby for a drink while you wait for them to call you
