Old soap factory turned into soap museum. Tour in Arabic, English or French is available. Don't miss their beautiful boutique with unique soap products (a bit pricey though!) and cafe next to it. They have clean bathrooms, so it's a good place to take a break if you are tired of walking around.

Located in the old city of Sidon, the 13th century stone building was once a soap factory producing soap, meeting the needs of the region’s hammams, before its transformation into a thematic museum. Today, the Soap Museum illustrates the history of soap making and how it has developed over time. Visitors can also learn about the production of traditional olive oil soaps.

The Soap Museum was previously a soap factory until 1975 considering the many Hammams in the surrounding area. During the Civil War from 1975 to 1990, the ground floor of the factory was converted to a shelter for refugees. The soap factory was only restored in 2000 and was re-opened as the Soap Museum. Here, you will learn the history of the soap factory and how soap was manufactured. Visitor guides are available in three languages, namely: Arabic, English and French.
