Caffè 70 is more than a daytime coffee and drinks spot, although it is perfect for coffee and pastries in the morning, or a tasty hot panini served on a wooden board during the day. It is also full throughout the early and late evenings with locals and visitors alike. "Il Fico, si mangia e si beve" (The Fig, here you eat & you drink!) is an absolute gem in the heart of Ceglie. Newly opened by the dynamic duo, Francesco and Pierangelo, it is a cocktail bar, place to nibblele appetisers, eat a full meal, including beautiful wooden boards of imaginative local antipasti, soak up the atmosphere and listen to live music. It is a great addition to the vibrant local scene. The interior decor is gorgeous, there is outdoor seating, and a huge variety of cocktails and spirits..including Hendricks Gin and Fever Tree tonic...seriously not to be missed! Open late.

Known as "48Food" this pizzeria on the edge of the main piazza has an indoor vaulted room, and tables outside perfect for a summer evening. There is a certain modern style here with wooden tables and chairs and pretty decorations, and the pizzas are some of the best around. They are thin and crispy with excellent choice of toppings, many of which are "Slow Food" authenticated. The value is exceptional and it is an easy place to eat both slightly earlier in the evening than some of the more traditional osteria and also later on into the evening. Piero and his team are incredibly welcoming and the service is courteous and fast. A lovely spot to watch the evening passeggiata in the Piazza.

The main square in Ceglie is a delightful hub filled with typical Italian local food, ice cream parlours (ask us for the insider knowledge on where to eat with the locals and pay the local price)
