Taiping Lake Gardens opened in1880 becoming Malaysia's first park. Since opening, the park has been maintained at immaculate standards for almost for one hundred and fifty years.

This is the first cultivated gardens in the country and is regarded as one of the best. A popular venue for morning walks and evening jogs, it is very well landscaped. Huge angsana trees arch over the streets here, creating a shady boulevard that expands towards the lake.
