Pinecrest Historical Village is a must see for history lovers. This hidden gem of Manitowoc county is just a short drive off the beaten path. There are several historical buildings- houses, a school, church, dance pavilion, storefronts, train station, train, etc, all moved to this acreage from places in Manitowoc county throughout the years. The best part is that, unlike some historical sites, you can walk in every building and get up close and personal with history. The site is set up like an actual village, they provide you with a map that details the buildings, and you enjoy at your own pace. My pre-teen boys LOVE this place and we easily spend an entire afternoon here everytime we go. It has never been busy when we visited which is great for taking your time to step back in history.
