(5 minutes away, on bus line) Carlyle has a well-trained staff and a dependable contemporary American menu. I've been eating there for 20 years and can't remember a time I've been disappointed by service or food. Nice alcohol menu as well. They'll try, and usually succeed, at getting you exactly what you want. Everything on the menu is well executed. Great place for long conversations. There is also a small friendly bar inside that that serves the same menu.

Great American foods and great service. They are especially good in sauces and their specials are always interesting. I have been going there for over 11 years and was mildly disappointed only once, and that was because the special that day was soft-shell crab which I found out I wasn'ta big fan of.

Great brunch and dinner spot! Best Buns Bakery right next door is also a favorite, especially in the morning!
