A half hour walk on very high bridges and canopy trails on Penang Hill, not for the faint hearted. You will be rewarded with stunning vistas, animal sightings and a chatty nature guide.

Farm
“Tropical Fruit Farm is situated about 800ft above sea level on the hilly terrain of Teluk Bahang in Penang is an ideal location for cultivating many types of tropical and sub-tropical fruit trees. The orchard covers 25 acres and it was developed back in 1993 with a few objectives in mind. First of all, to conserve the rare and exotic fruit trees. Secondly, to educate and promote to the locals as well as foreigners of the gift that our land is blessed with. Lastly, to play a positive role towards agriculture and eco / agro tourism amid the intensive development in our state’s rural areas. Over the years, the orchard has acquired many rare and exotic fruit trees from the region as well as from far-flung corners of the globe such as Central and South America, Central Africa, India, the Middle East, the Caribbean, the Pacific Islands etc. Today the orchard boasts of a collection of over 250 different species and the list is still growing. The farm endeavours to use only organic fertilisers. Some of which are processed in the farm using fruit waste collected from around the farm. Chemicals are only used when absolutely necessary. In the farm, our aim is to work towards a cleaner environment for the future. Apart from viewing the fruits of course there would be sampling of the variety of flavours that is unique to each individual fruit. The orchard also prepares light snacks, juices and a hefty BBQ buffet spread on the weekends and public holidays.”

The Museum showcases the earliest batik paintings done in the 1950s by the 'Father of Batik Painting' Chuah Thean Teng in Penang and the subsequent works by other Malaysian artists. Currently there are now 80 batik paintings by 25 artists in display. A small international section is included. Premise
“Built in 1930 by the British as a fortress against Japanese attacks, it was overtaken by Jap forces during WWII when they surprised the Brits with inland invasion rather than the sea. While historical hand-me-down accounts vary, it is believed that the Japanese garrison is a butcher house for civilians & prisoners-of-war. The location of Penang War Museum is enough to set goose pimples running amok. It sits on Bukit Hantu, which means ‘Ghost Hill’ because local folklore is apparently rife with ghostly sightings & encounters in the vicinity. It could also be the result of active imagination due to the fort’s dark past as a purported Jap torture camp during WWII that the hill got its name!”
