Three generations of the Furrow family have experienced first-hand the growth and maturation of the Virginia wine industry. Hickory Hill opened in 2001 as the 75th winery in the state making it the oldest winery at Smith Mountain Lake. Hickory Hill is a traditional Virginia farm winery. The tasting room with its gift shop is small as the focus is the farm, vineyard, and winery. The picnic area has become and will remain where the majority of visitors will enjoy The Furrows’ hospitality and their award-winning wines.
