This pub/hotel looks very underwhelming from the street but actually has a lovely courtyard out the back and great pub food (best parmy in town). They also do takeaway!

Has the best hamburgers in town and the only pub open at present as the other pub in town is undergoing renovations.

The front verandah is a great place to enjoy a relaxing drink. Good pub food at a reasonable price.

I've added the Freemasons Hotel to the food scene section of the Toodyay Guidebook because the food here, whilst a little above your average cost is well worth the splurge. With beer on tap, and great coffee as well, it's pretty much a one-stop-shop for us. The steaks are mouthwatering, and the service is top-notch. We also love going into town and grabbing a table on the balcony overlooking Stirling Terrace and people watching. However, if I'm with a larger group, the quiet beer garden out the back is just as good - safer for toddlers too. It's just a top spot and one of my favourites. I adore the steak-sandwich - toasted of course and their chips are great too. Their sticky date pudding is divine! We've grabbed a few coldies (Freemason's also has a Bottlemart) and fish and chips as takeaways, just so we can come back to Sanctuary and enjoy the great food at home. What's not to love about that? Even our guests have recommended it. NB: There's a takeaway menu at Serenity Cottage pinned to the fridge.
