Boot is a lovely little village near the foot of Hardknott Pass and is located near the Eskdale end the steam engine railway. You can visit Eskdale Mill which dates back to 1578 and is one of the very few water corn mills still remaining.

Boot is home to the historic working watermill, run by miller Mr King who provides guided tours and demonstrations of the miiling process. Restaurants, cafes and bars, Stanley Ghyll falls nearby.
