This modern art gallery offers a range of exhibitions including a semi- permanent collection focusing on the St.Ives modernists, a dedicated space for special exhibitions in the new extension part of the building and artist rooms. During the school holidays they offer a range of children’s activities including beach art explorers and Tate create. If modern art isn’t your thing, the shop and cafe on the forth floor are definitely worth a visit. The shop offers a fantastic range of interesting books, postcards and gifts. The cafe has the most spectacular views overlooking Porthmeor beach so you can sit back and relax on the outside terrace with a glass of wine or Cornish cream tea.

A short drive, or even better a train ride from Penzance, to St Ives and the Tate is opposite a white sandy beach with a cafe. Do check their website to check if you need tickets to the various exhibitions!

The Tate St Ives features work by modern artists. There are good views from the cafe. It's possible to buy a ticket that includes entry to the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture museum and I'd recommend doing this
