Mosquito Pier was created by the US Navy for large ship docking, and Vieques hoped cruise ships would choose to anchor there (but they haven't). It's also the future ferry port (but not yet). For fun, there is great snorkeling around the rocks by the pier. I assume some fish there too (but that's not my thing).

old mile long pier originally started to connect Vieques to main island, but never finished. beautiful views, snorkeling, diving.

When the Navy occupied Vieques they began building this to connect Vieques to the main island. They never finished it but the mile long pier is now a prime snorkeling spot. The beach to the west is also a popular place to see starfish.

Terrible name, beautiful views! Despite what it sounds like, the pier is not filled with mosquitoes. Great snorkeling under the pier and great views of the island from the pier!

Cool relic from the Navy days. Great views and beautiful sunsets. Excellent photo shoot location. Amazing snorkeling.
