It's Free (and close)! The Fish Hatchery releases over a million trout every year into Lake Taneycomo. The visitors center is very informative, the fish are fun to feed. Nice small museum & aquariums.

Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery is the largest trout-rearing facility operated by the Missouri Department of Conservation. Located just beneath the dam.
