Balmoral Beach has postcard-perfect views out through Sydney’s Heads—the entrance to the harbour. The water here is warm, there are no waves to speak of, and there’s an enclosure to protect swimmers—it’s fantastic. The Balmoral Baths ocean pool, at the southern end of the sand, has a walkway around the perimeter so you can jump into the water with ease. Go early in the day, go at high tide, and avoid busy Sundays. That will guarantee you space in the baths to float in peace and gaze at the sky and people strolling along the walkway. When you spot a free table on the patio at The Boathouse, jump out of the water and grab it—it’s a great spot for a coffee.

Most beautiful beach on the northern side of Sydney, wonderful beach walks and great brunch and lunch at bathers pavillion.
Great for a swim, not rough and pleaseant atmosphere! Also close to yummy fish and chips and Bathers Restaurant
Great restaurants, popular with families as this is not a surf beach so the waves dont get very high. Fantastic walk on the esplanade, sailing, SUP and kayaks for hire. We used to live there and know and love it.
The locals' favourite - Calm waves and family friendly. A decent play ground on the south east end. 2 good shower facilities and dozens of restaurants/take aways. The way to spent a day.
