The biggest food market in old town Florence, located in San Lorenzo district, an area also famous for leather shops. At the Mercato Central you can buy food at the stands on the ground floor, or stop for lunch or dinner in the food court area upstairs. I would recommend this place because there's nothing similar in town.

Downstairs the everyday food market; upstairs the open restaurant with a wide choice of foods: pizza, beef-steak, lampredotto and trippa (typical florentine foods), pasta, fish, vegetarian... and more others.
