Ever wanted to dance to electronic house music in a room full of people in tutus? Harlot’s Tutu Tuesday, the second Tuesday of each month, is your dream come true! They book great DJs from around the world, and the space has a dark, artsy vibe to it. Look out for the fun projections above the DJ, and pay a visit to the face painter. Bring your own tutu if you’ve got one, but if you don’t, you can buy a tutu for $2 if you get there early. Sounds crazy, but you don’t want to be that guy or girl who’s not properly costumed for the party.

Dramatic red lighting & burlesque art set the mood at this swanky lounge & late-night dance club.
San Francisco has only a few clubs. Harlot tries to be the posh/nice/upscale one. Nice try.

“Where the band lived in the 60's. There are a lot of beautiful murals in the neighborhood - great for a walking tour.”

“It's got a 1930s feel about it, almost like a speakeasy. Their dance floor is on the smaller side, but I always find that I have plenty of room to move. It’s also a great spot for people watching as the dance floor is situated a few steps below the bar area. There aren’t any private rooms, but there are booths. They have in-house gogo dancers who serve as visual stimulation while the music plays.”

“This spot is like Palm Beach in the 1950s. The banana leaf wallpaper, glowing golden bar, ferns hanging from the ceiling, and wicker bar stools make it picture-perfect. The raw bar serves till midnight, and dinner goes till 11pm—my favorite item on that menu is the oyster carbonara with crispy pancetta, with a bottle of Whispering Angel rosé of course. Ask to sit in their tiki lounge in the back, trust me it's cool. And make sure to take a postcard and sneak out a Leo’s Oyster Bar green golf pencil.”
