Shhh - don't tell anyone else but there is a walking trail through National Park from Boat Harbour to One Mile Beach. Or if you prefer, it is only a 5 minute drive away. One Mile beach is a long pristine surf beach suitable for all ages. It also has life guards in place (plus Swell Kiosk nearby)

Port Stephens and many of the villages, is surrounded by Tomaree National Park. There are great walking trails through the park as well as 4WD trails and normal vehicle access. One of our favourite 'hide away' spots is Big Rocky, off Gan Gan Road. Kingsley Beach at Boat Harbour is another favourite.

If you have not done so before, take a sand dune trip at Birubi Beach. D'Albora Marinas
6 Teramby RdThe Marina is a great starting place for all the many tours and activities Port Stephens has to offer - dolphin and whale trips, kayaking, parasailing, trips out to Broughton Island. It's also a lovely area to wander around with speciality shops, cafes and bars.
Food Scene
This is a casual restaurant, perfect for breakfast, lunch or just a coffee. it is also open for dinner on the weekends. We love coming here, not only for the food but for the sweeping views of Birubi beach (could spend hours just gazing at it) and also the unique design and decor of Crest. It does get very busy in the peak seasons so in these times, book ahead or 'sneak in' a visit between breakfast and lunch or in the afternoon.

We love coming here, not only for the food but for the sweeping views of Birubi beach (could spend hours just gazing at it) and also the unique design and decor of Crest. Little Beach Restaurant was recently awarded the best seafood restaurant in NSW. The views are stunning and the food is fresh and local. Service is great as well. Start off with a drink downstairs at the Little Beach bar (get there just before sunset for the amazing views). The Bar is also fabulous for more relaxed tapas style food

One of our very favourite walks is to the headland in Boat Harbour and is a 'must' viewing spot, especially in the whale season. There are so many great views both north and south, and small trails lead off in various directions. Kids and 'grown ups' love it - clamber over the rocks, explore the rock pools, enjoy the picnic areas. Just love it.

Shopping
The village of Anna Bay is close by and has all the essentials - an IGA, petrol station, medical centre, bottle shop, some cafes and eateries. Very hand if you need anything.

Nelson Bay has a great range of specialty shops, cafes and restaurants. Wander around the wonderful gift and clothing shops and take a walk down to the Marina for more eateries and shops - even as a local, we really enjoy checking in on whats on offer in Nelson Bay. Nelson Bay Cinema has 3 small cinemas with popular movies and is great for rainy days. And of course, always a coffee stop close by!
