Head to Phuket Old Town to wander its quaint streets, relax in its quirky cafes and browse its cute stores. In this historically rich part of town you will find shrines, temples (Buddhist and Chinese), ornate and beautifully preserved 'shophouses', tiny printing shops, impromptu private and public museums and even a mini ex-red light district. You will see grandiose Sino-colonial mansions, once occupied by Phuket's tin barons of 100 years ago. Phuket Old Town is compact enough to stroll around in. Although there is no dearth of cafes and restaurants, a great option for fabulous Thai food is Raya. Bonus: housed in a delightful old Portuguese mansion.

Even though James Bond island may at times be overrun by tourists, but the rest of the Phang Na park is gorgeous. Hire your own traditional Long Tail boat and go hopping around the small islands, have lunch on a floating restaurant and go kayaking through the natural coves.

A lovely little beach all the way down south in Phuket. There aren't any food shacks on the beach, so make sure to take your own picnic basket and mats. There are some nice snorkelling spots that you can rent kayaks to get to.
