Litteraturhuset is a cultural scene that also serves great food. A bit pricy but good quality. I reccomend a hot apple juice!

Mt. Fløyen is sort of THE city mountain (out of the seven) and a must when visiting the city. You can take the funicular, but if you want to do as the locals you walk both up and down. There are a lot of nice trails to walk around in the mountains. Just ask us for suggestions if you are interested...

StoltzekleivenStolzekleiven is a steep path going up to Sandviksfjellet (Mt.Sandviken) where most of the stretch is a stone path and stair with about 900 steps. It is very much used by locals to work out but is also a beautiful path to take in your own tempo. Expect hordes of sweaty people with heavy breaths to pass you on the way up. Ask us about more details about the trip if you are interested.
Vidden is the plateau between the two mountains Fløyen and Ulriken. Walking Vidden means to go from one of them to the other. This is a beautiful trip but you should have good shoes and clothes, and expect that it takes about five hours from peak to peak (not counting with the time to get back and forth from the city center) and might be quite windy. Vidden over - Mountain race
Vidden is the plateau between the two mountains Fløyen and Ulriken. Walking Vidden means to go from one of them to the other. This is a beautiful trip but you should have good shoes and clothes, and expect that it takes about five hours from peak to peak (not counting with the time to get back and forth from the city center) and might be quite windy. the natural science museum of Bergen is currently closed because of construction work, but I still recommend to go to the garden that surrounds it. it is a small, beautiful green pocket surrounded by university buildings, only a five minutes walk fro the house.

Nordnes is the peninsula in the middle of the city. It is very central but still seems like a small village within the city. It is a nice neighborhood and also have several nice parks. In spring and summertime you will find a lot of people sunbathing and grilling here, and you even find several spots where you can jump into the water. Bring some food and a book, a towel and a slack line to fit in ;)

NordnesparkenNordnes is the peninsula in the middle of the city. It is very central but still seems like a small village within the city. It is a nice neighborhood and also have several nice parks. Nice place to go swimming. You can jump in the sea or swim in the outdoor pool for free. It is a 15 minutes bus ride from the center.

You might think that the tiny streets in between the houses are private, but in fact all of them are public, or at least common. A good rule is that everywhere you find the dark green painted railing is a public "Smau"(tiny street). You should set some time of to get lost in these areas.
