Nightingale has some of the cheapest drinks in the cities…and by our count some of the best as well. The bartenders here are great, and almost all, if not all of the cocktails are $9. Oh, and they just happen to have one of the best burgers in town. No big deal. The brunch food is so-so, but if you want a great bottomless grapefruit mimosa, head here from 10am-2pm on the weekends.

It also has the coolest "industrial-chic" design as it is built in what used to be a mattress factory. Their drinks are all amazing, they make a proper cappuccino as well as a really fancy seasonal mocha. Skip their cold brew, there are bette options!

This new restaurant is a new venture by the local owners of the expanding Red Cow franchise. Red Rabbit specializes in Italian food mixed with some wood-fired specials. Hands down, this is one of our top three favorite restaurants in Minneapolis. Their burrata is the best we've had outside of Italy...either get the ball to share or order the "New Margherita" pizza so everyone can have a taste. There are lots of 3rd wave coffee shops in Minneapolis, but this one stands out because it is one of the few with a full breakfast menu. Skip the avocado toast and spring for one of the sandwiches, you wont regret it.

Had an arepa before? Who knew this little Venezuelan street food could provide the foundation for one of the coolest restaurants in the cities. Their yucca fries are our guilty pleasure and their El Diablo cocktail is the best we've had...in the world!

You have to walk down the alley between Aldrich and Lyndale Avenues and turn in to a little parking area to find the infamous door with the red light over it. Knock and the bouncer at the top of the stairs will let you in. They also have live jazz and bluegrass several nights a week, as well as several secrets scattered throughout the bar (think bookcase doorway, phone booth entrances and the like). It might be a wait, but it's an unforgettable experience!

The MIA museum is our traditional art museum, home to works from (I think) Antiquity to the 20th century. It's always free to visit the main exhibits, but there is a supplemental charge for their visiting exhibitions.
