For a more local experience, head to the General Luna Boulevard and enjoy your fresh fish cooked and served with a few bottles of beers at Uncle La-Lay’s. You can choose your fish at the market on the corner and then just have Uncle La-Lay cook it up for you with rice and other Pinoy dishes. Uncle La-Lay’s is a stall located in the middle of the boulevard, and is a classic place to kill time while the sun goes down. This place also turns into a karaoke strip at night, so if you want to continue hanging out like a local, feel free to grab a mic.

If you would like a special Paella platter, let Abe and I reserve one for you at least 3hrs in advance. Admire the huge standing rock at Magpupunko, one of the most picturesque and unique places to visit on the island. The place is a protected area, so you will have to pay a small entrance fee. You can jump off ledges into the crystal clear tide pools and snorkel around the reefs. It is best to visit the place during low tide. Be sure to avoid this area during holidays and weekends during the peak of summer. Also a great place to picnic.
