Ben Tunnecliff is a Michelin star chef and the food here is so so good. However I have not eaten here since pre pandemic! Let me know if you eat there and how it is? The menu changes daily, lunch or dinner - definitely call and book a table, especially if its the weekend or holiday season.

Delicious fish tapas style food - the most amazing fresh fish tapas, fish of the day, crab nachos, tasty chips and local Cornish beers and wines too. I love the atmosphere and staff. They do not take bookings so: just show up, you may have to wait in a queue but don't be put off as it never takes long to get seated and they make the food super fresh and fast. Its just on the bridge as you drive into Newlyn. One of the best bites to eat in town.

This is a beautiful place, big bar and restaurant down stairs, hotel upstairs, and THE BEST GARDEN, Looking over the sea, palm trees mixed with hydrangers, cream tea or good ales and beers and a great selection of food too for all the family.
Best fish and chips in the whole of the UK!! They do specials, sometimes a massive hunk of battered HAKE. The chips are unreal. Worth a trip in to Newlyn just for these guys!

Looks very simple - but has amazing food! My best take away for Indian fresh cooked food - they do some great wrap type things too for carrying to the beach. Get there early ish as the wait can be a bit long due to their popularity!

Just up the road from the cottage, walk in 5 minutes, good cafe and always some interesting and some times incredible pieces on show. There is a lovely gift shop too.

A wide range of exhibitions happen here, usually running for 10 days, and they also do organic coffee - tucked back from the Lido Jubilee pool, its another Art Deco building that PZ are very proud of.

A short drive, or even better a train ride from Penzance, to St Ives and the Tate is opposite a white sandy beach with a cafe. Do check their website to check if you need tickets to the various exhibitions!

This place is the best for a day out in my opinion. Of course the Tate can be marvellous, this is just more like it!

St Ives is 7 miles approx from the cottage - they have a Tate gallery, 2 or 3 stunning white sandy beaches (with life guards) beautiful shops, the best pasties in the world and some very nice walks along the sea front and around the little lanes.

Me and my family love it here, really unusual day out, almost rain forest like huge palm trees and ferns all along the pathways and sculptures to look and wonder at...a wonderful garden centre and cafe too, along with an art gallery!

Secret really but our guests need to know! Its a sheltered few coves and beaches, drive about 5 miles from cottage, best swimming spot - you can dive in off the rocks at high tide. A stunning place to be.

This beach gets busy in the summer but its a classic, great surf, almost at Lands End, parking and cafe on the beach. Soft sandy beach with small dunes - you can walk from here along the coast to the next beach which is MY best beach ever: Gwenver.

The local people of PZ have been swimming here daily since the beginning of time, there are groups that go together and others that go alone...some swim right to Newlyn. I love to lay on the rocks in the hot sun and then have a few dips, always amazing how blue the sea is.
