This is an artist run space, 3rd fl walk up of a big former industrial building that houses a lot of other artist run spaces. Best on "first friday" (1st friday of every month) as they're all open, but vox, as the more established one has regular hours & is worth stopping by if youre nearby (in chinatown for example).

Large modern health food store (and simultaneously still a legit community food coop) -- Support local community run business and local farms by shopping here! Get interesting local products and not any more expensive (possibly even cheaper than) whole foods.

a west philadelphia "chain" (three locations)- this is the closest, but all are great places to hang out or pick up a beverage/snack on the go. Wifi, tables, friendly locals, fair-trade coffee.

The only problem with this place: chips/salsa are so good but the GREAT burritos and tacos are also far too massive to order anything else.

One of largest urban parks.... Its expansive. The part of it just down the street of 40th (and this whole neighborhood / part of town) was built up for the Centennial International Exhibition (1876) so theres these big monuments- google the 'whispering wall' and go check that out. Also, the Japanese tea house and nearby botanical gardens!

This is in the section of fairmount park near the house. A legit japanese house in a garden has tea ceremonies - look at schedule in advance.
