Honey-coloured Bath stone has been used extensively in the town’s architecture, including at Bath Abbey, noted for its fan-vaulting, tower and large stained-glass windows. Take the low road behind the house (Cotton's Lane), cross to the other side of the old ford at the end of the road and head up the footpath towards the farm. You need to duck under a vehicle barrier, but after that there is a well signposted footpath into the countryside. The trail goes through fields of cows, but don't worry they're very tame!

This collection of three Bronze Age stone circles has a fascinating history; legend has it a King and his men were turned to stone by a witch, resulting in the Rollright Stones. Once you’ve explored the stones, follow the walk down through the charming hamlet of Little Rollright, back towards Salford and go for a well-earned drink at The Salford Inn.
