There are several Treebeards locations that are in Downtown for LUNCH ONLY. If you want southern food, they are one of the best. This particular location is inside of Christ Church Cathedral, so you get pretty scenery, plus a great lunch. You have to go into the property and find it. Cafeteria style service and seating.

The HMNS has fantastic exhibitions - something for kids of all ages. You will need to get on the MetroRail or drive. If you're really ambitious, you could bicycle (not for the faint of heart.) They also have a great gift shop.
