This is a huge pub over several floors as the name suggests, overlooking the Preston Park. It house outside seating great for summer evenings. It serves reasonable food, and Sunday lunch, which in the UK means roast meat (or nut loaf) with roast potatoes, vegetables and gravy.

Intimate, reasonably priced, french restaurant in the North Laines. Great food. Excellent service. It's quite small so you may need to book in the summer months. Tel: 01273 607270.

This is an amazing historic building, King George IV's pleasure palace, with an interesting back story. See if you can join a tour, or download the audio tour on your phone. Great for rainy afternoons. Great anyway.

Parks & Nature
This is the closest park, and is good for a 10 minute morning circular walk. It has a cafe, and tennis courts and is good for picnics. The local Blaker's Park committee stages some occasional neighbourly events here.

This big nearby park has something for everybody. Sometimes it is the venue for big events such as PRIDE or during the Brighton festival. You can enjoy the huge gorgeous trees, rose gardens, meadows in the summer, community gardens with vegetables, and different types of terrain. There is a velodrome for cycling, tennis, bowling.... etc. The cafe sells great snacks and provides a vantage point for watching the world go by.

The nearby former manor house of the ancient Sussex village of Preston. Current building from 1738, largely renovated in 1905 by Charles Stanley Peach. The manor house passed through several owners, including the Stanfords—reputedly the richest family in Sussex. If you love historic interiors and want to get a glimpse into Brighton's past, this is a great way to spend a couple of hours. It's quite small so there's no cafe, but you could walk across the gardens to Preston Park afterwards and get a tea in the cafe there.

It's a lovely small museum, with gorgeous furniture from famous designers, through the ages, including Salvador Dali's sofa. You can't miss it. As you enter from Pavilion Gardens, the furniture is in the main room on the ground floor. Admission is free.

Every Saturday until 2pm, there is an eclectic mix of stalls that keeps changing. You can get great snacks for lunch and amazing coffee, fresh fruit and vegetables. Not all stalls are there every week but generally you can find local cheeses, fresh fish, fresh olive oil, home baked brownies, plants etc. The market alongside the church is organized by the very friendly man who sells exceptional coffee. I have had my most delicious ever cup of coffee from that stall. It is only open until 2pm so get there early.
