Former small wine tavern, today a large, casual restaurant with several sections, great for families with children as there is a huge playground in front of the building. Good, homemade food and salads, a nice variety of vegetarian and vegan foods, a huge variety of cakes and pies, a large farm shop offering vegetables, fruit, bread, cakes, homegrown wine, liquor and juices - and there is ice cream all year round. ;-)

1 Binzener Str.Former small wine tavern, today a large, casual restaurant with several sections, great for families with children as there is a huge playground in front of the building. Good, homemade food and salads, a nice variety of vegetarian and vegan foods, a huge variety of cakes and pies, a large farm shop offering vegetables, fruit, bread, cakes, homegrown wine, liquor and juices - and there is ice cream all year round. ;-)

One of the oldest shopping malls in Weil am Rhein. Not too large and kind of old-fashioned but charming. I like it. :)

The only true island in Basel/Birsfelden: located between the arms of river Rhein, visited by families and young people to relax and sunbathe. Plus: two rowing clubs are located on the island as well as the hydroelectric plant at the bridge and a watergate.

Paper museum at a lovely historic paper mill. In my opinion one of the nicest spots and historic districts in Basel. Nice during summertime, too, as there is plenty of trees and shade.

I just love the surroundings, the modern building and the changing exhibitions. The art shop, park and cafe/restaurant are very nice, too. I recommend going by public transport as parking spaces close to the museum are rare.
