The Apartheid Museum is very easily accessible about a 15 minute uber ride from the flat, heading towards Soweto, and directly across from Gold Reef City, Joburg's largest amusement park. The museum is a must-see - plan about 3 hours. It has a restaurant and gift shop.

The farm where the Rivonia Trialists were captured, Lilliesleaf has been restored to share the story of what happened that afternoon in 1962 when almost a dozen of the top leaders of the banned ANC were captured. Mandela was already in detention, having been caught near Durban six months before. His case, and one other, was combined into one massive trial known as the Rivonia Trials, which sentenced ten trialists to life imprisonment on Robben Island. Beautiful restaurant and bookshop. It also hosts events such as book launches and lectures.
