A delightful and very comfortable independent cinema complex in nearby Barnes. Formerly a recording studio used by world-famous bands such as The Stones. Highly recommended.

The Windmill is a beautifully preserved and maintained windmill in the heart of Wimbledon Common. A lovely setting, it is a very pleasant 20 minute stroll away on a path through the Common. There are very restricted opening hours for visiting the tiny museum within the windmill, but it is worth a visit to admire this piece of history in a lovely setting. Cafe next door great for simple refreshments with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. Very child-friendly.

Large, comfortable theatre a bus ride away in the historic market town of Kingston upon Thames. A very busy town with great shopping, bars and restaurants as well as nice riverside walks.

The former residence of Henry V111 - incredible palace and amazing gardens including a maze which children love. Beautifully situated alongside the Thames. An unforgettable day out. The palace is fascinating in terms of history, culture and architecture.
A short drive or uber taxi ride away (under 30 minutes if not rush hour) or a 40 minute bus ride away (need to change buses) outside rush hours.
Alternatively it is a 45 minute train ride away with trains going from nearby Barnes Station with a change of train at Clapham Junction.
