This is a beautiful little restaurant about 5km from our house. It is in a lovely yellow house on a hill near Peddar Bay, and Matheson Lake Road.
Closed on Tuesday and Wednesday but well worth the visit for the fantastic local food.
On warm days, I recommend sitting out on the porch!

Glenrosa Farm Restaurant
5447 Rocky Point RdThis is a beautiful little restaurant about 5km from our house. It is in a lovely yellow house on a hill near Peddar Bay, and Matheson Lake Road.
Closed on Tuesday and Wednesday but well worth the visit for the fantastic local food.
On warm days, I recommend sitting out on the porch!

a 1km loop starting at the parking lot will take you through a beautiful Douglas fir forest, to a lovely rocky beach and back up along a meadow-y bridle trail. This trail has it all. Great for running, hiking or walking your dog. Gorgeous views and wildlife everywhere.

Devonian Regional Park
4705 William Head Roada 1km loop starting at the parking lot will take you through a beautiful Douglas fir forest, to a lovely rocky beach and back up along a meadow-y bridle trail. This trail has it all. Great for running, hiking or walking your dog. Gorgeous views and wildlife everywhere.
A wonderful place to swim in the summer. Follow the trail all the way around the lake to find secret rocks to stretch out on. The beach is a good place to wade in as it is shallow and warm. Dogs are welcome everywhere (except the beach area from June to October.)

A former railway line, now a graveled trail used by walkers and bicyclists alike. 50 km from mile 0 in Victoria, to the Sooke Potholes.
Level and easy. So many places to hop on and off.
