It's royal projects by King Rama 9 & his mother. They turn from opium plantation or empty mountains to be fulled with trees & huge flower plantation and create more careers for all hill tribes up there.

Arts & Culture

It's an oldest capital in North of Thailand. The town itself is cultural. Riding a bike around, check out all old sites, visit old temples and having meals next to Mae Khong river are all my favourite. If you rent a motorbike, ride out and visit Golden Triangle and a lake , it's also good experiences.

Getting Around

It's a bus-stop for Green buses from Chiangmai, overnight buses from Bangkok. When you buy a ticket, buy to Mae Chan, tell them you wanna get out at a post office or it's called in Thai 'Prai-sa-nee'. It's only 10-minute walking to Tongpun Escape Hostel.
