Villa Cappellano was build in the 500' by Jesuits and it is a unique example of a monastery-farm in Sicily. The building is not open to the public but the outdoors are free and you can walk around it. It is very close to the Cottage.

Borgo Santa Rita. a very old little village of farmers where you can find the awarded best Sicilian bakery (Forno Santa Rita). They produce pasta, bread and pizza (sometimes) by using a traditional recipe with old grains. Local cheese is sometimes available in the village. Must go!

Like many other castles built during the reign of Martin I, Falconara rose as a bastion against the Arab incursions: Gela was very vulnerable and subjected to looting in 1399

Naro

Rich of history and monuments, Naro is a big agricultural center. First among all monuments is the Castello Chiaramonte built in 1330. Relevant are also the Matrice, the typically baroque Chiesa del SS. Salvatore, and the Santuario di S. Calogero, one of the most ancient sanctuaries of all Sicily, that beholds a crypt containing the statue of the Santo Nero, the town's black patron saint. Worth a visit.

Rich of history and monuments, Naro is a big agricultural center. First among all monuments is the Castello Chiaramonte built in 1330. Calogero, one of the most ancient sanctuaries of all Sicily, that beholds a crypt containing the statue of the Santo Nero, the town's black patron saint. Worth a visit.
