The historic ZigZag Inn is a family run restaurant that continues to be a favorite among local and visiting friends and families. One of the many gems of the Mt. Hood area, the picturesque ZigZag Inn was built of hand cut logs in the grand northwest architectural style of William Lenz in the late 1920's.
Casual comfort, great food, and friendly service. Dining at ZigZag entails a large and diverse menu, highlighted by its world famous pizza. There is truly something for everyone here!!

Mount Hood National Forest is in Oregon, east of Portland and south of the Columbia River Gorge. Mount Hood, a dormant volcano capped by glaciers, is home to ski trails, alpine lakes and the 1930s Timberline Lodge. The Timberline Trail encircles the peak, passing waterfalls, glacial creeks and meadows. Barlow Road, once part of the Oregon Trail, goes around the southern slope near the village of Government Camp.

Books list many different distances for the trail, but one common one is 7.0 miles (round-trip) to an open area some 600 feet above the (not visible) river.

There's nothing out of the ordinary here--no big waterfalls or mountain views--but as forest hikes go, it's an excellent one. Books list many different distances for the trail, but one common one is 7.0 miles (round-trip) to an open area some 600 feet above the (not visible) river.
Huckleberry Mountain Trail is a 10.6 mile out and back trail located near Zigzag, Oregon that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is best used from June until September. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
