The Vee’ refers to a V-shaped turn on the road leading to a gap in the Knockmealdown mountains. The Vee itself is on the Sugar Loaf, but the pass from Tipperary to Waterford runs between Knockaunabulloga (on which you will find Bay Lough) and the Sugar Loaf. The Vee is predominantly famous because of the breathtaking panoramic views afforded to travellers and sight seers going through the pass. The journey rises to about 2,000 feet (610m) above sea level above Bay Lough, and as it does so it gives wonderful views of a portion of the ‘Golden Vale’ between the Knockmealdown and Galtee Mountain Ranges

The Apple Farm is located in county Tipperary in the south of Ireland. Apples have been grown in this area for hundreds of years, and since 1968 they have been planting more orchards to increase our supply. As well as apples, they grow pears, plums, sweet cherries, strawberries and raspberries. They even make a sparkling apple juice, and cider vinegar here too. They have a farm shop from which their produce is available all year round.

King John originally built Lismore Castle in 1185. Lismore Castle was owned in turn by Sir Walter Raleigh and Richard Boyle, before passing to the Fourth Duke of Devonshire in 1753. The gardens are said to be the oldest continually cultivated gardens in Ireland and they offer spectacular views of both Lismore Castle and the surrounding countryside of the Blackwater valley. Visitors are invited to wander in the historic gardens which contain a fine collection of magnolias, camellias, rhododendrons, and herbaceous borders, arranged over seven acres within the 17th century outer defensive castle walls.

The River Suir is renowned for its game angling, holding both salmon (Salmo salar) and brown trout (Salmo trutta). The season runs from 17th March to 30th September inclusive. The river is a paradise for both the trout and the angler. Unlike most rivers, it cannot easily be divided into distinct ecological zones. Almost its entire channel from Templemore down to the estuary at Carrick-on-Suir is a continuous series of shallow and deep (< 2.0m) glides interrupted occasionally by shallow riffles. It simply increases in width as one proceeds downstream, remaining relatively shallow and maintaining its very good trout carrying capacity over practically its entire length. It has many tributaries
