One of my favourite things to do after going to the Wildlife Preserve is to go down the road about 1 km to Bean North for a warm yummy drink and a snack. I love the cozy cafe, and their Guatemalan coffee with a hint of chocolate is delightful!

Great place for locally made specialty made liquors and beer. I actually only started drinking beer after I moved here and had an opportunity to enjoy their products. Highly recommend if it's to your taste.

One of my favourite places to go with my wife and with my daughter. You can bring your bicycle or rent a kick sled in the winter, or walk or take the tour bus, and go for a 5km tour around the preserve and see dozens of species of Yukon wildlife. A truly special gem and absolute must see!

This is a new gem to Whitehorse. My wife recently went and thought is was a very pleasant experience. This place is not child friendly just yet, but there is a plan for a future child-friendly space in future.

Another absolute must see, even if you need to hike it in. You can access it by road on the south side of the river until the road is closed in late or end of October. The canyon can still be reached from the north side of the river and a pleasant hike on a fairly smooth trail through the woods. Like all trails in Yukon, I recommend folks carry bear spray!

Another absolute must see, even if you need to hike it in. You can access it by road on the south side of the river until the road is closed in late or end of October. If you want to see a beautiful spot, drive about 3 minutes down Fish Lake Road to where there is a big turn-out area on the left, and check out the canyon above McIntyre Creek. Watch the eagles soar and the glistening water flow below. A piece of northern paradise.

Long Lake is one of my favourite places to go for an easy hike. It takes about an hour and a half to walk around in good conditions. As with all trails in Yukon, I recommend carrying bear spray and being bear aware.

Beautiful 45 minute drive from Ravencroft House, Carcross makes for a fun and easy day-trip. You can see Carcross Desert (the smallest desert in the world), and enjoy the beach at the lake. There are lots of little store down there during the summer months too.
