Discover Calanque de Figuières

I have prepared this little guide 📝 in order to allow you to quickly find useful information for your stay in my accommodation 🏡 I hope it will be useful to you and that it will allow you to have a more precise vision of the where my accommodation is. My accommodation is on the Blue Coast 🏞 between Marseille and Martigues, which consists of many small creeks 🏝 less known than those of Cassis but also much more traditional. In all, about fifteen creeks over the 20km of the Côte Bleue are located near the Calanque de Figuières.

At the bottom of the creek, behind the main beach 🏖 you will find another staircase, clearly visible, which you can also take 🚶 ♂️ It leads to a viewpoint overlooking the entire calanque of Figuières: you will thus enjoy a view beautiful on the Blue Coast 🌊 and Marseille in the distance. To be done preferably at sunset ☀️🌤 The second place from which you can admire the whole calanque is the small bench which is on the way to the second beach: by taking the stairs on the left, at the level of the port, you will reach it in 5 minutes.

The cove has 3 beaches 🏝 all within walking distance. The main beach 🏖 is to the right of the small port of Figuières: it is easily accessible on foot, especially with children. If you want to walk a little you can go to a beach 🌊 located just in front of the first: at the port of Figuières take the stairs on your left and continue to the small bench then, higher, take the path of land on your right. At the end of this path you will find a beautiful cove which stays sunny until late evening. Remember to bring your pike.

🚂 Two stations serve the main creeks: Niolon station and Ensuès-la-Redonne station. The latter is 2 km by car from the apartment. You can leave your 🚙 car there and take the train to get to Marseille and visit the city on foot. The train station is also accessible on foot in about 30 minutes from my apartment, the road is however quite steep / uphill.

If you want to visit the Côte Bleue in a more original way, I advise you to do it by boat 🛥: an original way that will allow you to discover the creeks, Marseille and the islands of Frioul from another angle. And the kids will love it 🤗 This is a small tourist boat that runs between April and November. Departures are between March and November from the port of Carry-le-Rouet. Three different circuits are offered (see details in the addresses and activities section).

Thanks to the privileged location of my apartment you have the possibility of discovering the Blue Coast on foot: if you are a hiker at heart you will find, along the Côte Bleue, several interesting circuits to do. It is, in fact, a place still protected from major tourist flows, which gives it its special character with an exceptional view of the sea ⚓️🗺

There is some interesting hikes nearby, quite easy to do, they are all accessible to children. I have tested and approved them all and I strongly advise you to do a few during your stay: - Calanque of Méjean and Niolon - The creek of Figueroles - The creek of Erevine I invite you to try them, the departure is from the port of La Redonne or the calanque of Méjean.

During your stay you can do some activities which, I hope, will allow you to spend an unforgettable holiday in Figuières: swimming 🌊 diving fishing, canoeing 🛶, petanque and badminton (you will find it in the apartment at your disposal), hiking 🏕

The three villages near Ensuès la Redonne are well worth a visit. You will have the choice: boat trip, surfing or a good restaurant... All three are accessible in a few km by car from the exit of the village by a national road or by a motorway (free) which has the advantage of offering you a spectacular panoramic view of the sea.
