My favorite beach on Maui! (also called Airport Beach) About 45 minute drive to Ka'anapali from my place. Extends north and south, but I like to hang out near the southern side called May's Beach. Its smooth, sandy bottom extends for a long way out. Can be *spectacularly* clear when the weather is right.
The park itself has parking, bathrooms and showers.
If you want to park at the southern side, there is free first-come-first-serve beach parking near the Hyatt, on the left side of Whaler's Village, near the Sheraton Maui Resort, and Ka'anapali Beach Hotel. (Paid parking at Whaler's Village as well. ) If you park in Ka'anapali, you can use the free Ka'anapali Trolley to get around - check its website for schedule.

For an adventurous contrast to a beach day, try heading up to this lavender farm. Cool breezes and great views! Lots of walking paths to enjoy a variety of flora and fauna and a nice gift shop to bring some lavender items home with you.

1100 Waipoli RdFor an adventurous contrast to a beach day, try heading up to this lavender farm. Cool breezes and great views! Lots of walking paths to enjoy a variety of flora and fauna and a nice gift shop to bring some lavender items home with you.
If you're planning on going to Hana, this trail is one of my favorites. Park closes at 5pm and your car can be locked in the lot. Be sure to arrive early to have enough to have a few hours for a pleasant hike.
