Galle is a city on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It’s known for Galle Fort, the fortified old city founded by Portuguese colonists in the 16th century. Stone sea walls, expanded by the Dutch, encircle car-free streets with architecture reflecting Portuguese, Dutch and British rule. Notable buildings include the 18th-century Dutch Reformed Church. Galle Lighthouse stands on the fort’s southeast tip.

준비물
Sunscreen, Cigarettes & Snickers
If you're a smoker it's best to bring your supply. Cigarettes' are super expensive in Sri Lanka comparing to other things and only a few brands are available as it's monopolized by BAT.
It's very difficult to find good sunscreen. The locally made brands does not do it and the rare imported brands cost a fortune!
Flip flops are essential for the beach so is a pair of snickers. Your feet will get tired walking on gravel roads in flip flops and you'll crave a pair of good snickers that you won't find anywhere other than in Colombo.
교통편
Trains, Buses & Taxi
Trains in Sri Lanka are great and inexpensive. Galle is a major train station and connects to lots of local as well as regional travel. You can buy tickets at the station or reserve in advance for long distance travel to make sure you get a seat. Busses are also available as above but less comfortable for long distance travel. AC buses are available in Galle that goes to a Colombo. Tuk Tuks (three whalers) are easy to flag down. Please make sure you agree to the fair before getting in.

Shop at markets with fixed pricing. Don’t fall into tourist traps. Walk where you can… if the price is not clear don’t buy or get into taxis.

It is not recommended to walk in the streets in swimwear. Cover your knees and shoulders when visiting temples and other religious places.
